K-3 Work Mission Statement:
To nurture the children in a warm, loving, caring atmosphere that encourages them to grow in a proper way and to have a heart that loves the Lord Jesus Christ.
4-5 Work Mission Statement:
Our goals with the children in 4th and 5th grades are:
- To present the Bible to the children in a way that it comes alive to them. We want to "relive" the story with the children. We endeavor to bring the lessons into the children's lives with practical examples they can relate to.
- To create an environment where each lesson is a joyful experience. We engage the children by singing, playing games like "Bible Jeopardy", and making crafts. It is our hope that the children can be inspired to love God, treasure the Bible, and enjoy the meetings of the church.
- To develop the character of our children by training their conscience through the Word of God. To impress the children with virtues that God desires through the people of God presented in the Bible as patterns and "heroes."
- To provide another avenue for the parents to bring the Bible to their children to their homes. The children have notebooks that they take home each week with their own notes of each lesson. During the week, parents are encouraged to review their children's notes and memorize Bible verses as well as read assigned portions from the Bible with their children.
- Currently, the theme of our lessons with the middle grades is "The Changer of Lives." We are covering the lives of key Biblical characters whose lives were radically changed by God.
- Our lesson topics are: "The Ministry of the Lord Jesus" covering the Lord's earthly ministry, stressing the fact that He came to meet the need of every person and "The Truth and Experience of Salvation" regarding the redemption and regeneration of the Lord Jesus.
It is our hope and prayer that the children will begin to consider how they can have a relationship with God and thus be prepared to have their lives changed through salvation and baptism before or during their junior high school years.
