A Summary of Galatians
It
pleased God to reveal His Son is us, justifying us through and out of faith=
, as
Christ lives in us, supplying to us the Spirit in our daily walk making us
sons, heirs according to promise until Christ is formed in us. Today we wal=
k by
this rule as God’s New Creation having been rescued out of this prese=
nt
evil age of the works of the law, which had enslaved us by the flesh in the=
old
creation.
Chapter 1 - Rescuing Revelation=

Chapter 2 - Living Justification
2:16 And knowing that a man is not just=

out of works of law, but through faith in Jesus Christ, we also have believ=

into Christ Jesus that we might be justified out of faith in Christ and not=
out
of the works of law, because out of the works of law no flesh will be
justified.
2:20 I am crucified with Christ; and it=
is no
longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I n=
ow
live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith in the Son of God, who loved me
and gave Himself up for me.
Chapter 3 - Spirit Supplying

He therefore who bountifully supplies to you the Spirit and does wor=

of power among you, does He do it out of the works of law or out of the hea=
ring
of faith?
Chapter 4 - Christ Forming
4:6 ...because you are sons, God h=

sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father!

Chapter 5 - Spirit Walking

Christ
revealed in us is our justification to come daily and receive the supply of=
the
Spirit, as God’s sons, that He might grow and be formed in us that we
might walk by the rule of the Spirit as the New Creation.
In Galatians we see t=
he
matter of Christ versus religion. We should not replace Christ with anythin=
g.
Galatians is a book that reduces us and eliminates everything that would
replace Christ. However, this reduction serves a very positive purpose: it
prepares us for further growth in life.
Paul wrote the book of
Galatians in order to deal with the damage caused by religion. According to
Galatians, the Jewish religion was formed according to God's oracle. But th=
is
fundamental religion with its law became a replacement for Christ. Hence, in
Galatians there is a strong emphasis upon the danger of the law replacing
Christ. As far as Paul was concerned, the entire religious world was on the
cross. Moreover, to the Jews, Paul also was on the cross. As a man in Chris=
t,
he bore upon him the mark of Christ's death. No longer was he in the Jewish
religion, but was absolutely in Christ and for Christ.
