As a result of revelation, Saul of Tarsus experienced a tremendous upheaval in his personal life

Gal. 3:7 Know then that they who are of fai= th, these are sons of Abraham. 8<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> And the Scripture, foreseeing that= God would justify the Gentiles out of faith, announced the gospel beforehand to Abraham: ``In you shall all the nations be blessed.'' 9= So then they who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.

The Background of mankind a= t the time of Abraham:

In Galatians chapter 3, Paul stresses faith and speaks of Abraham as our pattern of faith.= At Abraham’s time, the situation of mankind on earth was very dark. Because of Satan, manki= nd was corrupted and had fallen to the bottom.&nb= sp; The created race of Adam had forsaken God, turned to worship idols, = and was in total rebellion against God as seen by the tower of Babel (Gen. 11:1-4). Mankind seemed= to be declaring: We don’t need God! We don’t want God!= We can make a name for ourselves!<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> God’s eternal purpose for ma= n, that man express Him with His image and represent Him with His dominion, was lost with the created race of Adam. But hallelujah, God would never give up His purpose with man! God would always find a way to dis= play His wisdom. (See Life-study of Genesis #37.)

Abraham called out by God t= o be the head of the called race:

God in His wisdom called Abraham out of the fa= llen created race of Adam to be the head of a called race. The God of glory appeared to Abrah= am (Acts 7:2) to have a new beginning with man. Abraham was called out of the dark situation of idolatry and rebellion to believe God, follow God, and live a = life of faith in God. “…Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness.” (Gal. 3= :6, Rom. 4:3) “Believing Go= d was Abraham’s spontaneous reaction to God’s repeated appearing to him. God appeared to Abraham a number of times, each time transfusing something of His glory, something of Himself into Abraham. Hence, Abraham’s believing was actually the springing up within him of the v= ery element that God had transfused into him.&= nbsp; God’s reaction to Abraham’s believing was to justify him, that is, to account him righteous. This accounting was not out of works buy was based on his believing God.” (Rom. Chapter 4, footnote 3, Recovery Version) This is how Abraham followed God and lived a life of faith.

Sons of Abraham:

Those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. = Those who are of faith, are reborn out of the fallen created race of Adam into the called-out race of Abraham. T= hose who are of faith, “…walk in the steps of that faith of our fath= er Abraham…” (Rom. 4:12). To be of faith is to live a life as Abraham did - called out to beli= eve God and follow God and live a life of faith.

The gospel announced = to Abraham:

Each time God appeared to Abraham, He spoke. God promised Abraham that in him a= ll the nations would be blessed. God= also promised to give Abraham and his seed the good land of Canaan (Gen. 17:8). Paul got the revelation that what God spoke to Abraham was the gospel (Gal. 3:8). Paul saw that the blessing of Abra= ham is Christ as the all-inclusive Spirit (Gal. 3:14). Christ is the promised seed of Abr= aham to bless all the nations (Gal. 3:16) and Christ is the reality of the all-inclusive good land as God’s allotted portion to His saints (Col. 1:12).

Blessed with beli= eving Abraham:

Those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. Faith has brought us into an organic union with the Triune God Who is now the Spirit joined to our spirit (I Cor. 15:45, I Cor. 6:17). The greatest blessing is that we h= ave God Himself as the Spirit.

Living a life of faith:

What does it mean to be of faith? Abraham’s life shows us what= a life of faith is: God’s continual appearing to Abraha= m, speaking to Abraham and infusing Abraham with Himself so that eventually Abraham could not help but believe God, follow God, and live a life together with God. Today we can walk i= n the same steps of that faith of Abraham. May the Lord grant us revelation to see that we have an organic union with Him as the all-inclusive Spirit in our spirit. As the Spirit, He is the all-inclu= sive good land that God has given to us as our allotted portion. He is so rich and unlimited. There is no higher, richer, more romantic, or rewarding life than to live a life of faith. We are not here to live a religiou= s life nor to live a non-religious life. But to live a life of faith. On God’s side, He is always with us as the Spirit in every situation to speak to us, infuse us and live in and through us. On our side, may we turn our heart= s to Him, drop our concepts, and open up from the depths of our being to hear Hi= m, appreciate Him, call on Him, receive Him, accept Him, join ourselves to Him, partake of Him, and enjoy Him!
